  • Export production, transport and sedimentation of biogenic carbonate particles onto the deep seafloor.
  • Coccolith carbonate chemistry to monitor sea surface temperature and phytoplankton growth rates.

    Open ocean: Northeast Atlantic.
    Anoxic basins: Eastern Mediterranean, Cariaco Basin.
    Arctic sub-Arctic Sea: Bering Sea, Okhotsk Sea, Greenland margin.
